Davyhulme Go To The Theatre
The children in Years 2-6 (398 pupils) marked the end of the Half Term with a very special treat: a trip to The Palace Theatre in Manchester! We went to see ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and we really did have a wonderful time! In our endeavour to promote ‘cultural capital’ at our school, we want all children at Davyhulme to ‘see a show’ at a professional theatre.
All of the cast members , back stage crew and even the volunteers outside the theatre ( in the orange hi vis vests who helped us get off and on our coaches ) were UNPAID volunteers from pWC ( Price Waterhouse and Cooper) a big accountancy firm, who were giving something back to the community by hiring The Palace Theatre for their show. They also provided transport and snacks for free - so big thank you to all of those responsible.
The trip wouldn’t have been possible without the support of parents and carers- those who joined us for the trip, offering vital help; or those who came late back at night to pick up their children. A huge thank you from all of the staff at Davyhulme Primary School.
We hope everybody has a very restful Half-Term break and we will see you bright and early in a week!
