Dyslexia Awareness Week

Dyslexia Awareness Week
Monday 2nd October - Sunday 8th October 2023
Next week is 'Dyslexia Awareness Week,' and we will be celebrating this across the school. As many of us know, Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling. It is not linked to intelligence or poor education, and it occurs regardless of gender, ability, or ethnicity and across all walks of life.
The theme for this year is 'Everyone is Unique.' We will be sharing our experiences with each other, and thinking about what makes us special and unique too!
At Davyhulme Primary, we firmly believe in celebrating everyone, and their individual learning needs and styles! This should be a great way to raise awareness across our school community, and something we are looking forward to.
