Fabulous Friday French!

7th May 2018

vendredi 27 avril 2018

 Bonjour!

Today we started the lesson with an activity on the board which was about ‘Les chansons traditionnelles francaises’ meaning traditional French songs.  After we had discussed the songs, we continued writing our letters to our new French pen friends or for those who had finished their letters, they continued completing their French dictionary skills workbooks.

 Au revoir!

We began our lesson by saying Bonjour to Madame Underwood and Monsieur Burke.  Then, some children had to finish writing their letters to their new French pen friends and finish illustrating them.

The children who had done that had to complete some dictionary skills work. In the French dictionary skills workbooks there were some things we had to discuss.  An example of this was that some people were looking up the French translation for la baleine instead of the translation for the single word baleine.  We also had to find words in our French bilingual dictionaries and say which page we had found them on and it was quite tricky!

At the end of the lesson we said au revoir to Madame Underwood and Monsieur Burke.

Today in our French lesson, firstly, there was an activity on the board where we had to answer some questions about traditional French music and songs (Les chansons traditionnelles francaises).  These were some of the songs: Alouette, Au clair de la lune and Il court, il court le furet.

After we had completed the activity on the board, some of us finished writing our letters to our new  French pen friends, whilst others carried on completing their French dictionary skills workbooks.  We are using our French bilingual dictionaries for this challenge.

Au revoir!

Today in our French lesson we began by saying Bonjour to Madame Underwood and Monsieur Burke. Then, the children who had to finish writing their letters to their new French pen pals, completed their work and finished adding their illustrations. The other children continued to complete some activities in their French dictionary skills workbooks.  In the workbooks there are some activities such as translating French words into English using our French bilingual dictionaries.

At the end of the lesson we said au revoir to Madame Underwood and Monsieur Burke.
