Farewell To Sue Wynne our wonderful Cook of 35 Years Plus Service To DPS and Trafford.
21st Jul 2020
It has been a year of ' daylight robbery ' Covid19 has robbed our school of so many lovely opportunities as the children of Y6 will testify. School has been robbed of our Sports Day , PTA Fair and 80th anniversary celebrations to name but a few but one of our saddest regrets is not being able to have a proper Do for one of our greatest workers and strongest supporters who has made a substantial and sustained contribution to the success of our school over many years.
Sue and her staff have always ' gone the extra mile ' to meet the dietry requirements of any child who made special requests as well as all the others who just needed feeding with home cooked food. Her specialities included her famous cheese twirl and my personal favourite slow braised steak , yum yum !
One of her greatest achievements has been to provide every child who wanted one with a beautiful Christmas Dinner when school decided to make the offer a number of years ago. I suggested it to her and she just said yes we will make that happen ! AND SHE DID , year after year - amazing !
I believe another of her major contributions has been to send her grand children through the school with a huge number to swell our intake and keep the school going through bad times and good times.
We are sorry we couldn't have the BIG DO with all your family and friends but we would like to say a huge thank you and all the very best for your retirement which you have more than earned and deserve !
