Today, we welcomed the Mayor of Trafford, Chris Boyes, and his wife, the Lady Mayoress, to our school. They were welcomed by our Year 6 school councillors. The Mayor talked to all the children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 during two separate assemblies about his role. He also talked about how Trafford Council runs and makes decisions in the interests of the local community. This helped us with our work on British values, particularly democracy which we have been talking about due to the upcoming local elections.
Following the Assemblies, the Mayor and his wife enjoyed some refreshments and they met with our School Council. It was a very interesting visit, and we would like to thank the Mayor and his wife for taking the time to visit our school. They were both very impressed by our lovely school and the beautiful manners of the children.
