Our Tribute to ‘ the Fallen ‘ - Fashioned out of an old pallet by the talented Mr Harrison ! Our Children were fantastic and respected the two minutes silence magnificently !
Our soldier and cross will take pride of place in our ceremony of two minutes silence at 11am today and will be on display for the remainder of November for parents and carers to see outside the infant hall. Our figure will be surrounded by wreaths made by the children using a variety of materials. I am always moved by the sight of the tiny clay wreaths made by tiny hands ( the next generations ) which are placed in our bed of remembrance to return to the soil over the next 12 months when the elements ensure that they are absorbed by the earth once again …
We are reminded of so many things at this poignant time …sacrifice , youth , the cycle of life and death , renewal of promises made to those who have passed before us and a commitment to care for the soil and the earth we inhabit not just for those a live now but for the generations to come.
