Davyhulme Gets Planting
Today, our School Councillors and Eco Group we’re pleased to be asked to help plant a new oak tree and other saplings at Davyhulme Park. The oak tree was donated by Manchester Airport, who are celebrating their 80th year, and the saplings were given by the Queen’s Commonwealth.
We also added our own items to a ‘time capsule’ which too has been buried at an undisclosed location in the park grounds. We added: staff photos from 1940- 2019; school badges; school jumper logos; letters from current pupils to themselves and finally a letter from Mr. McDowell to the future headteacher at Davyhulme Primary School.
It was a very chilly event, but worthwhile! Many thanks to the ‘Friends of Davyhulme Park’ for organising this great event.
